Plans
Every group starts on the Free plan, and most groups can stay there. A paid plan adds room for photos and videos, text messages, and online payments without Grouperly’s 1%.

- Paying yearly is two months free.
- Scoutosia Pro is for scouting groups. It includes everything in Grouperly Plus.
- One plan covers the whole group, including its circles: dens, patrols, committees, leaders and parents.
- Linked groups pay for themselves. A troop linked to a council has its own plan, and the council doesn’t pay for it.
Choosing a plan
Section titled “Choosing a plan”A group owner chooses a plan in Settings → Plan & billing. Everyone in the group can see which plan it’s on.
A plan is billed from the day you choose it, by card, through Stripe.
Text messages
Section titled “Text messages”On the Free plan, announcements go by email.
On a paid plan, texts beyond the monthly allowance cost 2¢ each. They’re added to the next bill, up to a monthly cap: $20 unless an owner changes it, up to $500. Past the cap, texts go by email until the next month.
Changing or cancelling
Section titled “Changing or cancelling”An owner does all of this in Settings → Plan & billing:
- Switch plans, or switch between monthly and yearly. The difference is billed straight away.
- Cancel, or resume a cancelled plan before it ends.
- Manage billing updates the card, the billing details, and shows past invoices.
When a group cancels, it keeps the plan until the end of what’s been paid for, then moves to the Free plan. Nothing is deleted:
- Over the Free plan’s storage, the group can still see and delete photos and documents, but can’t upload until it’s under 5 GB.
- Texts go by email instead.
- Scoutosia Pro records, such as advancement, stay readable.
- Online payments started after the change pay Grouperly’s 1%.
If a payment fails, Stripe tries the card again, and the group keeps its plan for 14 days while an owner updates the card.
